Speed Ratings for 7th December, 2008 - Hyderabad Races

Hi Folks,

Fly By Wire, 6th till bend, flew on the outside to be 2nd to Classic Art in Rno.74. Should relish the extended trip and according to me on the basis of its finishing efforts, has an excellent chance to score in the Lingapur Trophy (2,200m), the main event of the races to be held today as he is in fine nick . Gentlemans Deal 6th till bend, came on powerfully to be 2nd and is the one to watch out. My rest of the speed ratings for the day are as follows:

Race No. 1:

Zycon 579
Pythagoras 550
Currency Test 524
Black Roase 479

Pythagoras raced in the frontbunch till distance and weakened to finish 3rd to GRAND RAPID over 1000mts as a favourite, will find extended trip hard to travel. Whereas Zycon led till beaten by the winner at the post by Alborado. With 100mts. less to travel will be one all have to beat on current speed rating which is very much superior to others. Pay Day debut run, working well a good place hope. Earlier in the month of November it was seen finishing level alongwith Come Together a subsequent winner here. Is in fine condition and should place here.

  1. Hi Jimmy,
I think you are calculating the speed figures from the last finishing time of the winner. You are neither considering track variants, nor weight difference in your system. By using any converter like Swamy Babu you will be more accurate.

After seeing your speed rating, I think one should only opt for BOL Race Book's finishing time of each runners.

  2. Hi,

First and foremost I wil appreciate any query by mentioning the name. In short would like to mention that it is just not ordinary finishing time of a race but various factors i.e. weight, distance , performance, track variant for the day, jockey weight etc. Various points are given by me to arrive the base figure. Even the penetrometer reading difference from the last race day is considered. Secondly none of the race books provide accurate timings either for the race finishes or various track work. We have to obtain it officially from the clubs concerned. Lastly please note it is not that easy to arrive at the final speed rating of a horse in a race. Hence what doubts you are having in mind is not correct. If further clarification you require will show you in person how it is calculated.

  3. hay Jimmy your doing a GRATE job by giving the speed timing i for one can pick a winner or place horse from your rating, keep it up. dont get diouraged by some ones comments, if someone tinks your timings are not good THEY SHOULD NOT READ YOUR TIMINGS.
