SET ALIGHT for The McDowell Signature Indian Derby(Grade I)

Hi Folks,

Set Alight unbeaten in her last ten starts, is in pink of condition as evidenced by her regular track movements, should not find it difficult to stay over the 2,400m trip to win the McDowell Signature Indian Derby to be held to-day. As expected of her, is in fine winning form and should annex the blue riband with ease. According to me she is superior than the rest by at least 5kg to Autonomy and 6kg to Dancing Dynamite in handicap rating. No doubt it has never shown excellent speed rating in her career but the fact to be noted is she has never been extended till date by any of the horses run with, besides has been whipped only once when it last raced with Dancing Dynamite. Now this shows the class of the filly which according to me can be safely kept as a banker in the respective pools without fear. In the Race No.134 Set Alight was well positioned 4th at 400, with Dancing Dynamite 5th and was just seen cantering away from 300mts. with just a whack for a reminder rest it won with plenty in hands with no one to catch her. It was spontaneous gallop which the filly rightfully responded when asked for. Dancing Dynamite was seen finishing full of speed along with Autonomy and I am sure to-day it is the one which should trouble Set Alight. Abs Fabs no doubt won in excellent timing at Kokata still lacks that power to topple the Western India horses and at best can place third followed by Autonomy which was all out last time. My remaining speed ratings for the day are as follows:

FOREST FLAIR for The Kunigal Stud Breeders' Produce Stakes

Hi Folks,

Forest Flair is a fair performer and is fit for the fray to clinch the Kunigal Stud Breeders’ Produce Stakes, the feature event of the races to be held to-day. Amongst the three year olds here it has got the best speed as well handicap ratings and is far ahead of the rest. Of course this is possible due to it having run maximum times than the rest. Forest Flair has lost just once in three starts to Versaki. One run old Amore Mio shapes as next best and gets to test her abilities here. Amore Mio in her debut run was left to do a lot of catching up because of her not being with the field in the early part of the race. However, she put in a sustained gallop to make her debut a remarkable one. In The Antiquity Rare Cup Aurora Aurealis on account of best speed rating for the day appeals the most. My rest of the speed ratings for the day are as follows:

Looks like it will be a fantastic race to watch.There is a small element of doubt about SET ALIGHT in my mind.It may win but on ratings, workings, timings it does not look invincible.

I am not rating ABS FABS too high but i feel that ICEBREAKER , RIYASAT can challenge SET ALIGHT. In my ratings SET ALIGHT shares the top rating with DANCING DYNAMITE.

DANCING DYNAMITE on the rating has a chance but looks tough but in racing you never know. AUTONOMY also does not look good and may be able to only place.

NORA with the improvement can cause a major flutter.JUVENTUS too can cause an upset.VEERA WANG also cannot be overlooked when you are looking for horses to place in the first four.
All in all it is not easy to nominate the first 3 or the first 4 , especially if SET ALIGHT looses.

The above horses do have a chance.DO put your selections with the above shortlisted in mind.

I am going to take a small chance by eating SET ALIGHT & also the JODI of SET ALIGHT & AUTONOMY. This chance cannot be taken in a large scale for obvious reasons but a small one is definitely worth
