Speed Rating for 19th November, 2008 - Mysore Races

Hi Folks,

Authoritarian trained by C. Girinath and to be ridden by Delhi up and coming jockey Ramandeep S. Bhel, is fancied to win The Thungabhadra Cup to be run over 1400mts for horses rated 60 and above i.e. Class II, the feature event in Wednesday's race card at Mysore. This three year old, who won both his outings in an authority manner in lower class, is now being asked to take on horses rated in Class II. He is racing over his favourite trip of seven furlongs and has given outstanding display in the morning trials wherein on 12.11.08 it did 800 in 0-54(-6) and 600/37. Now generally this track work is considered as winning work. He stretched out well to win comfortably over the same trip in the lower class, and even though penalised for the same, in the speed rating it has the highest numbers in fact for the day. Hence since he faces moderate opposition in this race, according to me should score a well deserved hat-trick. Arkwright looks another good bet in the Dharwad Plate Div. I. It finished good 2nd to Gold Grid over the same trip and not only escaped penalty for that but enjoys a slight drop in weight on account S.Shiva Kumar claiming 4kgs allowance. Briannsta which came late on the scene to finish good 5th over the same trip should place here at good odds. My rest of the speed ratings for the day are as follows:

IDENTIFYING AND BETTING ON WINNERS

While many of us do the hard work of Handicapping races, horse performance etc. and give our selections, we have found that some horses are not tried due to various factors and some of them genuine.

For eg. a horse may have a very good place chance and may be at long odds but the owner and trainer decide that rather than incurring penalty for placing, the horse may be given an easy run and the next time when it has a better chance to win, rather than place, try it out especially when the stake money/ odds can be better.

In this context it is necesary that that we try and obtain information ( reliable off course and not wild guesses) as to who is on a try and who is not.There are some elite members who have access to such information. I would request such members to post a mail about an hour before the commencement of races to my email id and without divulging the source of information, we can post the summary in this blog about 30 minutes before the commencement of the race which will help all the patrons.It need not necesarilly mean that our patrons can become crorepathis and lakhpathis.At least they will not bet heavy and will not loose heavy on something they believe has a strong chance but the connections had decided to go slow.The fundamental Idea is to reduce losses.

Hope there are positive contributors for this for Hyderabad, Mysore and Bangalore and as & when Mumbai commences for that centre too.

CHANGES IN SELECTIONS HYDERABAD 20.11.08

SOME CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE IN SELECTIONS IN THE 4TH AND 6TH RACE, SINCE WE HAD TIME AND THE AVOIDABLE JOCKEY , TRAINER FACTOR FOR THE CURRENT SEASON COULDBE LOOKED INTO BY ME.

IN THIS SEASON D SINGH, NM SEQUEIRA HAVE NOT BEEN DOING WELL . FAISAL HASSAN CONTINUES TO DISSAPPOINT.

KEEPING THIS IN VIEW, LOOKS LIKE KHALEELS PRIDE AND BLAACK MISCHIEF CANNOT WIN.

SURPRISINGLY THE HORSES OF LAXMAN S ( TRAINER) ARE ALSO NOT CLICKING AND SO HIS HORSES ARE ALSO BEING AVOIDED.

Among the three horses which had run before Chimney is best but form the four first time runners we have some good horses.Among the three previous runners Hundred Flowers is tracking well.From the first time runners Menlo Park,Ruffiano and Jia Yoh Jia Yoh are tracking well.2 YO can show vast improvement in a short while. Betting in this race is tricky.The rating of Chimney has improved and the same of Kansas City Magic and Hundred Flowers have decreased.Among the first time runners the rating of Jiya Yoh is best.

The Rating of Title Shot,Vanen Berg( 7 points) has decreased and the same of Golden sabot, Ripples ,Jaan Baaz ,Shivaji has increased and that of Top Gear is more or less the same.On IPR Vanen berg looks outstanding but looks like Jaan Baaz and Golden Sabot will trouble.Ripples can upset.Title Shot and TOP Gear have no chance.The improved Shivaji may trouble

Revised Speed Rating for 20th November, 2008 - Hyderabad Races

Hi Folks,

The Sri Shamlal Gupta Memorial Cup to be run over a distance of 1600 for 3year old and over for Category I should be a straight fight between Bernado and Bold Blast. Bernado seems to be having an edge on account of excellent track work wherein it was seen moving excellently and is in pink of condition. It won from end to end unperturbed in RNo.206 Hyd. Monsoon. According to me it is also enjoying handicap advantage over others and hence according to me stands a good chance to annexe this cup. Sparsh should continue winning in the opening race of the day since it is having an advantage of a run here and should spoil the unbeaten record of Powerplay which is equally in good form as evidenced in the morning trials. Amongst the 2 year old horses in The Grace Hanovar Plate to be run over a distance of 1200mts, Menlo Park, Pay Day and Jia Yoh Jia Yoh come closely on track work. Still Menlo Park enjoys an edge over others on account of moving well in morning trials wherein it was seen finishing just 2ls behind Global Presence with 84 points. Also in one of the track work it was seen finishing ahead of Ravileena by 2ls. Hence worth taking an each way chance. My speed ratings for the races to be held today are as follows:
