The three- year-old gelding Smokin Aces trained by S. Mangalarkar is in pink of condition as evidenced by his effortless last victory and has the best credentials of speed to win the Casino Royale Multi-Million (1,200m), the chief event of the races to be held to-day. It has clocked 10.6 for the last 200m which according to me is very rare and is considered excellent timing in his last start, should score an encore. Hi Folks,

Sea Treasure, who is in good shape as evidenced by his track performances, can win the Bahrain Trophy (1,000m), the main event of the races to be held to-day.In The Nawabzada Rashiduzzafar Khan Trophy the supporting event for the day, I fancy Balance De Power which was hampered in last run when it ran 2nd to Raquel over 1400mts as a favourite and still finished a noteworthy second, should win easily the Trophy. In fact does not face any threat form any of the four rivals and I would not hesitate to nominate Balance De Power as the best bet of the seven-race card. Also it will be profitable if one simply follows Daniel Grant for the day as he has very good chance to take a winning lead for the championship in the absence of C.Rajendra. SET ALIGHT for The McDowell Signature Indian Derby(Grade I)

Hi Folks,

Set Alight unbeaten in her last ten starts, is in pink of condition as evidenced by her regular track movements, should not find it difficult to stay over the 2,400m trip to win the McDowell Signature Indian Derby to be held to-day. As expected of her, is in fine winning form and should annex the blue riband with ease. According to me she is superior than the rest by at least 5kg to Autonomy and 6kg to Dancing Dynamite in handicap rating. No doubt it has never shown excellent speed rating in her career but the fact to be noted is she has never been extended till date by any of the horses run with, besides has been whipped only once when it last raced with Dancing Dynamite. Now this shows the class of the filly which according to me can be safely kept as a banker in the respective pools without fear. In the Race No.134 Set Alight was well positioned 4th at 400, with Dancing Dynamite 5th and was just seen cantering away from 300mts. with just a whack for a reminder rest it won with plenty in hands with no one to catch her. It was spontaneous gallop which the filly rightfully responded when asked for. Dancing Dynamite was seen finishing full of speed along with Autonomy and I am sure to-day it is the one which should trouble Set Alight. Abs Fabs no doubt won in excellent timing at Kokata still lacks that power to topple the Western India horses and at best can place third followed by Autonomy which was all out last time. My remaining speed ratings for the day are as follows:

FOREST FLAIR for The Kunigal Stud Breeders' Produce Stakes

Hi Folks,

Forest Flair is a fair performer and is fit for the fray to clinch the Kunigal Stud Breeders’ Produce Stakes, the feature event of the races to be held to-day. Amongst the three year olds here it has got the best speed as well handicap ratings and is far ahead of the rest. Of course this is possible due to it having run maximum times than the rest. Forest Flair has lost just once in three starts to Versaki. One run old Amore Mio shapes as next best and gets to test her abilities here. Amore Mio in her debut run was left to do a lot of catching up because of her not being with the field in the early part of the race. However, she put in a sustained gallop to make her debut a remarkable one. In The Antiquity Rare Cup Aurora Aurealis on account of best speed rating for the day appeals the most. Looks like it will be a fantastic race to watch.There is a small element of doubt about SET ALIGHT in my mind.It may win but on ratings, workings, timings it does not look invincible.

I am not rating ABS FABS too high but i feel that ICEBREAKER , RIYASAT can challenge SET ALIGHT. In my ratings SET ALIGHT shares the top rating with DANCING DYNAMITE.

DANCING DYNAMITE on the rating has a chance but looks tough but in racing you never know. AUTONOMY also does not look good and may be able to only place.

NORA with the improvement can cause a major flutter.JUVENTUS too can cause an upset.VEERA WANG also cannot be overlooked when you are looking for horses to place in the first four.
All in all it is not easy to nominate the first 3 or the first 4 , especially if SET ALIGHT looses.

The above horses do have a chance.DO put your selections with the above shortlisted in mind.

The Shapporji Pallonji Breeders’ Juvenile Colts Championship should be a close contest between Classerville and Supreme Emperor. Classerville has a thin edge over Supreme Emperor on account of last run wherein it was always ahead of Supreme Emperor and ran fifth in the PBMM. It has benefited immensely from that run of the course and will prove a hard nut to crack even though Supreme Emperor was seen finishing from the 11th position. Also taking into account handicap ratings Classerville is way ahead of the rest wherein only Spearhead comes next. For the Fillies, the unbeaten Captivating who is in pink of condition, has travelled well and is expected to win the Forbes Breeders' Juvenile Fillies Championship. HEREAFTER for The A.F.S. Talyarkhan Trophy

Hi Folks,

Hereafter is in good shape according to her track performances and should win the A.F.S.Talyarkhan Trophy the main event of the races to be held here to-day.
Hereafter had a good first run in the Continual Plate, where she was in charge till the 200m before Amore Mio took over closer home. On that count, considering the smart timing, Hereafter should be the all have to beat. Another impressive runner is River Rule which may go close. In The Indian Navy Trophy Div.I, the supporting event for the day, I strongly fancy War Of Attrition which has now come to hands after regular good performances at the morning trials. Both Encouragement and War Of Attrition have raced together in RNo.149. In that race War Of Attrition though conceeding 7.5kgs finished an impressive 2nd. To-day it runs with same weight whereas Encouragement after taking 5kg allowance runs carries extra 3.5kgs and has to travel 200mts. less which is the only advantage in her favour. Hence War Of Attrition should win if placed properly during the race in good position and not asked to do much in the homestretch. Elemento Angel my run close. In the Div. II, Heifitz on acount of better speed rating should get better of speedy Sepia Tone. My rest of the speed ratings for the day are as folllows:
