Derby Choices

Though the Race has 13 entries only a few are in with a chance to WIN the Classic Event.

Retribution , South Star , Sprucespringstein , Vijayraaj and Welcome back are the horses which come into contenttion based on previous runs and current form.

Retribution has been always highly thought off though the Horse has never fulfilled the expectations.Is having good form to go by but the distance may go against the Horse particularly in a slow paced event.Has a good chance to WIN a classic at a small centre as none of the others have done anything of note till date.

South Star : did not perform in bangalore when it was made to compete over shorter distances.The last run was impressive though the quality of oppositon is nothing to be proud off.

VijayaraaJ : is the local contender for the race which is sponsored by the Owners of this horse.The Horse has limitations on distance and hence looks very difficult though not ruled out.

Welcome back : has just WON 2 races and finished 2 nd in the last outing to WONDER SMILE.Not sure if the Jockey is genuine enough to WIN a classic.

Sprucespringstein : has the class to WIN the place as the Horse is bred to run over longer distances.Not many would give this Horse a choice based on its past record / Jockey declared to ride.BUT CAN UPSET.



The others do not qualify to be in the reckoning.I might go wrong in my analysis but the best FIVE are shortlisted above.

Stroke of Luck , Easy Flash are TWO Horses which are looking good in the races framed for youngsters.

Trainer Deshmukh is likely to be in the limelight on the Classic Race day.Zoheb Shaikh and Prasad Raju do come into contention based on the runners and Jockeys declared to ride.
