Review of Saturday Races

hi all , Abel had asked me to put up a review of the races held at BTC based on the LIVE action.I have tried to put in some observations based on the movement in odds as also the performance in the race.I would appreciate a feed back on this.The Indiarace.com and racingpulse.in websites also come up with their balanced and expert views and these are usually posted within 24 hours.


It was one bad day for the bookies as many well backed horses came through in the short card of 7 races.

The First race saw the odds on Opprimo coming down to .80 from .92 at the start.Cute style which was not fancied by many tipsters opened at odds of 6.5 and went upto 8 to1.However Bangalore tote displayed odds of 108 Win and place rs 14 , 20 minutes prior to race time and after a few minutes the place odds was RS 10 which clearly indicated that the Money was on the Horse.It finally offered Rs 65 for WIN which pretty much sums up the way the Race was RUN.Money Manthra opened at 10 and closed at 12 with place odds at 2.50.Gris Rapide had no takers and even Jaan Baaz which opened at 6 to 1 ended at 8 to 1 with bookies offering even money for place.One positive thing about the bangalore tote is that ONE Can pick up the betting activity .While Money Mantra was displaying 65 for Win and 26 for place ( intentions not there ) the last Horse on the Tote was Sarang and the Place odds was Rs 65 against WIN of Rs 440.If a punter has a eye for such details HE CAN do well based on the trends noticeable in the Bookies ring / tote.

None of the Horses displayed any great merit and the outcome was on expected lines as Lokanath Gowda is not a trainer associated with Winsat low odds.When there was no credible opposition and most tipsters fancied the Horse NONE Gave it as the days best.Why ???


Lotus Leaf opened at 2.25 and Perfect Analysis at 1.55.Midway the horses were both offered at 1.80 and in the end based on the flow of money LOTUS LEAF ended at 1.40 where as Perfect was offered at 2 to 1.Quite a reversal of roles.Byramji started off the season with a debut WIN and Jockey Harish had to just guide the Horse to WIN very convincingly.Perfect Analysis ran a poor 3 rd Competent Soldier who was with the front bunch finished a credible 2 nd and paid a whopping Rs 300 for place.Next time with B Prakash it will open at .60 for WIN.Act of Duty was kept way off the pace and asked to do too much in the last 400 mts.With better saddle assistance Should be able to WIN a race shortly.The Hyderabad Horses ran true to their form.

Queens Guest opened at 115 and was backed to .85.With W Smith doing duty on Hill of Grace there were no takers and the ODDS drifted from 2.10 to 3 to 1.The outcome was pretty evident at this stage and QUEENS Guest cantered to Victory in a spectacular fashion.

Strategic Partner was the 4 th Favorite in the Tote and the closing tote display was 455 win 32 place That this Horse would place at the expense of one of the fancied horses was evident.Though this Horse lost a few lenghts at the start and was languishing at the wrong end of the field for most parts of the journey it came with a late flourish to end a credible 3 rd. W.Smith PROVED his CLASS in the Race.if Strategic Partner can place with a Jockey named Ali Khan , i am sure the FILLY can easily pick up a race in bangalore summer with the preferred Stable
Jockey.Spark of Isis must have felt the weight and can do well only in class 3 or a terms race.Illusive Girl ran a good race and will be seen in the Winners enclosure when it competes with Horses aged 5 and above.


There were light showers prior to the start of the 4 th race but it made no difference to the outcome as the First 2 fancied runners took the 2 spots with VANQUISH demolishing the opposition.The odds were 2.5 at the start and ended at a good 2.10.The others were never in the odds .

OROCHI which had run some game races in hyderabad and was tipped by a few was offered 20 for Win and 5 for place.Talk of the Devil finished on well as usual to take the 2 nd spot ahead of Renascent which ran a mighty race with Md shafiq.Talk of the Devil may have to wait for some more time to pick up a race as at the current rating of 103 it is difficult considering the handicap.As it rained for a few minutes some of the Horses may not have performed to its potential.EVANSTON lost quite a bit at the start but ended a good 4 th.But nothing can be read into this as most of the other horses were seen tiring.Crocodile Hunter was very well ridden by W Smith and ran unplaced.At this rate He might be asked to leave honorably to avoid further embarassment.

It was KIARA all the way.Did not bother to check the odds offered on this Horse or the others as it was pretty much clear that the rest would be above 10 to 1.As far as the race is concerned Strong Minded came on well in the closing stages and should do well over 7 furlongs.Script ure Destiny was shown the daylight early on and hence this should be taken at face value.With some mediocre Jockeys astride Top of the Class , Panchakshari and Cimmaron , it is difficult to assess the Performance.Iam sure they will do well if the MONEY is on the Horse.

The 6 th race was a monumental disaster for the Bookies as the odds on Star of Washington drifted from 2.75 to 3.50.One could see all Bookies in bangalore accepting bets without FEAR as they ASSUMED that EQUIDAE would come to their rescue.However with the horse being withdrawn at the gates the 25 % deduction lead to payout at 2.30 to 2.50 where the TOTE payment was just .80 .There was some inspired betting on Valid Expectation at longer odds .It ended at 10 to 1 and 1.50 for place.Alcmene's fate was sealed after the Double for Byramji.

There was some betting based on information on VIJAYRAJ .It ran like a DUD , as
can be expected from most of trainer Deshmukh's wards.Dorabella WINNER OF 3 races was neglected but Vijayraj Winner of 1 race was FANCIED.Strange are the ways of the punters.Dorabella ran a mighty race and finished a good 2 nd.The horse to watch out for would be Dorabella and IAEPETUS.Star of Washington cantered and should be in contention for the Summer Classics.Equidae was withdrawn at the gates saving some embarassment for W smith.

Last race was quite an open affair and the ring prices indicated that the favorite was not in the reckoning.However Winner picking was difficult.In the end Free Glider was fortunate to Win from the late finishing Immortal.Royal Hero was prominent until the last 50 mts and may have to be promoted to the next class for Dividend Payout.Lucky Gold Star was fancied by a few TIPSTERS and opened at 20 to 1 for Win and 3 to 1 for PLACE.Having run races from 1400 to 2200 , it is difficult to understand the logic behind these Tips.
