Saturday choices

These are my views for the day ;

First race :

Opprimo starts as favorite based on track run , previous performance and Jockey merit.

Sadly none of the other horses in the fray have any of these 3 qualities to qualify for a comment.

With Hyderabad Horses and Jockeys in the fray alongside some mediocre bangalore Jockeys ,it is difficult to even guess the Horses with a chance for place.

My Guess is Alexander the Great and Cute Style. At least these names sound better than the rest.



Second race :

Lotus Leaf was a failed favorite with Ryan Marshall astride on debut.How it was fancied on debut is a mystery.Jockey Harish not being given mounts by most Trainers and also being the out of form , not sure if he can make a difference.

Act of Duty may have some credentials but the Jockey is mediocre.

Solitary Champ : has placed once in Winter and is seen in tracks consistently.May come into the reckoning.

Sparsh / Sir Almas / and the 2 Horses from MAM Camp : Ignored on Horse and Jockey merit.

Light Brigade : Well bred but again Jockey has not been seen on Winning Horses for past 2/3 months.

Perfect Analysis : NIL Track work. Cant see how a Horse can do well when it is not fit.


Bottomline : race is as BAD as one can imagine with with the Bonus being the common interests of the three Harish ,Suraj and Ashish.


Third Race :


Hill of Grace : If W Smith is Even able to guide the Horse over the race distance , the Horse has the Chance to easily wrap up the race.But with his current record in bangalore , how many of us can even consider him for place.

Queens Guest : Negatve change of equipment / Top weight : Ruled out.

Spark of Isis : Has finished 4 th to Fleeting Arrow in Bangalore Winter Season.That is proof of the filly's potential.Should be there in the First TWO.

Illusive Girl : is a front runner , if the others are not able to catch up with the tactics can upset.

Royal Zen : is at a tidy handicap and also looking fit.PLACE chance only.


Fourth Race :

Talk of the Devil : Tracking well.Needs some forceful riding.As a fancied runner finished a miserable 7 th earlier with the same jockey.May at best PLACE.

Gentleman's Deal : may struggle here.

Vanquish : unplaced in Hyderabad but considering the poor quality of runners here , May be in the reckoning.Should PLACE easily.

Orochi : Gelded on 21/03 , negative Change in equipment , D K ASHISH are all negative pointers when one considers the fact that Suraj the retained rider of Trainer Prasad Raju is on the favorite.


Stafire : Quality Horse at tidy handicap but seems to be out of form. However better placed on handicap compared to Talk of the Devil.May place.

Crocodile Hunter : Padmanabhan and Smith make a deadly combination.The earlier Trainer was Rafaat.Has done well upto 1400 metres.Has the capability to go over this extended distance.All depends on SMITH.

Guided Missile : Keep an EYE.I expect this Horse to place.



Fifth Race :

Strong Minded : Should place .

Panchakshari : Is a speedy Horse but abscence of Trackwork and choice of jockey is negative.Competing with some high quality sprinters makes it difficult.

Kiara : In all likelihood would be a candidate for this years SPRINTERS cup.However not worth a bet mainly on account of the ODDS and also for the JOCKEY.

Script Ure Destiny : A Horse which comes and WINS a Race after a year long break has to be very talented.Good each way chance.

Cimmaron : R Marshall cant be trusted for place also.

Lush Foliage : negative change of equipment.Looks difficult.



Sixth Race :

Alcmene : Failed favorite in Winter,.Can make amends if it lasts the distance.

Star of Washington : Has the Bloodlines in its favour.But has beaten some poor quality opposition.Lot of Expectations.May do well.

EQUIDAE : Place is a MORAL certainity.CAN WIN.Again we have to go by the performance of the Jockey.Good BET.

Valid Expectation : First run after being gelded.Difficult for place.

Iaepetus and Vijayrath : Hyderabad based horses , at this handicap looks very difficult.

DORABELLA : TOP WEIGHT , HYDERABAD BASED , but has been consistent and also has the services of a Good Jockey.May place.


Last Race :

Royal Hero : may at best come 3 rd. Avoid WIN bets.

Char Chand : Has the best credentials.

Run to Remember / Free Glider / Lightin Blues : the Horses with potential to UPSET.


Kenchi bets based on Horses fancied by many tipsters ;

Oprimo / Lotus Leaf / Kiara / Equidae / Vanquish : based on Opening odds any 4 of these can be shortlisted for a kenchi as the odds are reasonable except for KIARA.

Place hopefuls : Spark of Isis , Guided Missile / Strong Minded / Alcmene and Char Chand.
