Kyles of Bute SHOULD make amends.Hopefully Alford will ride a decent race.

Desert Rule failed as favorite in Winter but considering the long layoff , it is likely to have had some issues.Besides there is a negative change in equipment.

Spandau Bullet : Has run with better Horses.Can upset.

The Spartan : Tracking well and after the earlier 6 th with Lisa can do better.

Spark of Gold : Not here.



Classical Act Plate


Queens Guest : Walk Over.Running after a long layoff by racing standards but has the class and ability to hack the field.Can be considered as the Days best but the ODDS might not be good enough.

Little Splendour : May at best place.

Billy Blackjack : lots of activity seen in swimming .Over due foe place.

Cannavaro : Horse is good but choice of Jockey is not positive.

Smart n Special : A front runner.A trip over 1100 would have been ideal.Again Jockey has no merit.



The Maharaja's Cup

Bourbon King : Impressive Winner over a mile.Multi Classic Winner , doubts being raised on stamina limitations and handicap.But CLASS over rules all these negative factors.Is conceding 2.5 kgs to Southern Empire compared to the previous outing .But Should prevail on account of Saddle support.

Southern Empire : Last WIN was in Dec 2007 in Hyderabad against 2 Horses from same stable.A horse which loses to Storm Regent in Hyderabad in my OPINION cant do well irrespective of the opposition being faced or the handicap.GOOD LUCK.

Noble Prince : This trip is ideal as the previous run was short for comfort.Also rider was penalised for excessive WHIPPING and with the extra burden of 2 kilos , i am not sure of its capabilites.

Sweeping Sucess : had written it off in previous run when everyone was fancying the Horse.Now i see that 3 Horses are being fancied and this neglected.Having beaten all these Horses earlier ONE CANT AFFORD TO IGNORE this filly.

Gruezi : With Aadesh Kumar the chances are negligible.

Ruby Queen : even with the handicap in favor i cant see this horse doing well.

Alekona : Did fancy it last time but over this extended distance and against some classic Winners chances are SLIM.Only advantage is the relative Jockey Merit.

Talk of the Devil : Keep an eye.This is most consistent Horse in Bangalore and often ignored as it is from a small stable.

Vanquish : Can its sustain 2200 ??

Saptawsha : Well has no class as such . But Will try start to finish tactics this time as earlier 2 runs the Horse was on a bit burdened by the handicap.

Mothers Pride and Alterio : Not here.

So depending on the odds ,

I would like to bet on Bourbon King for WIN , Each way chance on Sweeping Success and a small bet on Talk of the Devil for Place.

Big Race hence NO big bets as there are too many fancied Horses and it could go any which way.



R M Puttana Memorial Trophy - Div 1

Cimmaron : Ruled out due to Jockey merit.

The Contender : Finished a impressive 4 th in race 60 and that was a good run as the Horse was running after 11 months.If it fails it could be due to the handicap.Good Bet if the odds are On Money and above.

Astounding Blue : Not here.

Act Smart : Will definitely place.Small chance for Upset.

Surprise Package : Consistent horse at tidy handicap.May do well.



Paddwick Plate


Zaffarani : Tracking well , strong Owners and with retained Jockey doing DUTY one can take a chance in spite of Trainer GHATALA.Should place on debut.

Scramjet : Blazing the tracks.Is the Horse to watch out for.The dam ACER has had many winners in Bangalore.

She's Spectacular : may at best come 3 rd.

Gift of Achievement : Was full of running in race 105 but quality of opposition was mediocre.With the services of a good Jockey can do well.

Arnatta : Strong Bloodlines with earlier siblings having reached class 1.Lots of expectations.With so many good horses in the fray I would have a negative bet if it is available at reasonable odds as favorite.


R M Puttana Memorial Trophy - Div 2


Open race with My Friend Paul getting the nod based on previous run.

Milford , Ciboney and Snob Value can all come in contention if My Friend Paul does not oblige.

Gift a diamond and CrackerJack are not likely to figure on baord.


Likely Winners : Kyles of Bute , Queens Guest , Bourbon King , The Contender and My Friend Paul.

Place hopefuls :Major Asset , Spandau Bullet , Billy Blackjack , Sweeping Sucess , Act Smart and Milford.
