Speed Ratings for 30th November, 2008 - Bangalore Winter Races

S. Ganapathy trained Originality (Placerville-Hall Of Honour)the highest rated three year old filly has shown tremendous improvement since last Bangalore Summer Season. Inspite of the fillies classic attracting a strong and competitive field of 16 contestants, Originality has the best credetntials to grab the coveted first classic trophy. She is the only filly to have won in Class I sweeping her rivals with a measure of comfort. Her subsequent workouts warrants good support and she should annexe the trophy from her nearest and stablemate rival Star Wave. Ignore the run of Star Wave in the Mysore Derby wherein it suffered massive interferance due to Archipenko. She also has the bloodline to disturb the applecart of her stablemate. Also having already beaten Abs Fabs and Icebreaker earlier in RNo.72 wherein she was last till 600, 8th till 400, 5th on the wide outside at 200, came flying from 100 and pipped both of them on the post, she is the doosra which MAM may use in emergency if Originality does not quicken in the straight. Hence she is the one which will add spice to finish. Originality has been working well and is bread to stay even though she has been campaigned only over sprint races till now. The manner in which this filly has won in her last three outings by pulversing her oppositions at times,suggest that this horse is a champion in the making. Underfoot conditions will not deter her chances since she has the experience to race in similar circumstances in Bangalore Summer. To sum it up I strongly recommend all to play Originality each way, as according to me it appears a day's best proposition for the Sunday's nine event card wherein most of the races look wide open and competitive with most of the contestants running in with a good chance.
