Hi Folks,
Aristos trained by J.S.Dhariwal and to be ridden by C.D.Hayes commands tall respect among the others with his superlative performance last time out and the workouts. He is in immaculate condition and should tackle this opposition to bring home the second classic i.e. The Harvins Bangalore 2000 Guineas the feature event of the day. Aristos if you all recollect won on double promotion and with penalty in confident style i.e. start-to-finish and though it drifted out a bit at 300mts. was corrected by jockey Desouza at the right moment and was just ridden with plenty in saddle. Pulverized the opposition. Aristos is working like a bomb and ready for the kill, he will take a lot of beating, should tackle this opposition with authority. Rarely have I seen a horse on double promotion winning with authority, only MAM is capable of such things. His main opponents are likely to be Originality and Fleeting Arrow. Fleeting Arrow had a hard race after a long lay-off and that will definitely tell on its performance today. The timing of Fleeting Arrow was slightly slower by 0.11 compared to Aristos on the earlier day. Even though both Originality and Fleeting Arrow are highest rated in Bangalore, I for one feel that Aristos a sparingly raced colt has achieved both his victories with a measure of comfort and continues to improve with each run. Originality ran a good race in 1000 guineas but the moment it went extra distance the speed rating dropped drastically which minimizes chances here. I feel she is best suited upto 1400mts. Lastly would like to recommend Aristos strongly each way and according to me one can have a good double alongwith Tomsk in The Shantiniketan Trophy, a seven furlong race for horses in Class I, the supporting event for the day. Trainer Arjun Mangalorkar has chosen to give a miss in the 2000 Guinea, and decided to run Tomsk in this race as he feels Tomsk has a better chance to score here. Should tackle this event with abosolute comfort as it is way ahead in speed ratings compared to other horses. My rest of the speed ratings for the day are as follows:
Race No. 1:
Fair Option 573
Sun Gold 542
Fair Option finished an unwanted 3rd with non-jobber last time out. Today with positive switch of jockey intentions of the connection are clear. Platinum Charmer can place here with good odds. Spark of Oldenburg has an outside chance but I feel it will have to produce extra to beat Fair Option.
Race No. 2:
Chilli Chocolate 571
Nonstopcannon 568
Galloping Blues 562
Mexicanwave 558
Race No. 3:
Queen Rania 623

ReplyDeleteDear Jimmy,
ReplyDeleteI shall be thankfull if you give a brief write up regarding SPEED RATING, i.e. how it is calculated and how it differs from HANDICAP RATINGS. In what condition SPEED RATING gives better forecast of result as compared to HANDICAP RATINGS. I think this will be benifitial to many more pepople in addition to me.
With Regards.
