Hi Folks,
On the strength of its impressive last run and subsequent good track work here, S. Padmanabhan-trained Classerville seems to have an edge over his nearest rival Aboline which is also performing well in the morning trials and is placed above him in the handicap ratings by 10 points. Remember Classerville has run with good youngsters and the last run wherein it just knuckled under at the post was simply superb. It was on start to finish mission and clocked 10.2 for the last 200m which by any standards at Mumbai is considered an excellent speed timing for the last 200 mts. Whereas to me Aboline though yet to taste defeat has not been tested with the cream of youngsters. Hence one cannot guage the talents of the horse unless proved amongst the best. Nevertheless a closs fight is on the cards. In the Supporting event for the day i.e. The Dharmaprasha L.S. Venkaji Rao Memorial Cup I strongly fancy Sothern Charge on past form and ratings. In fact it should enable jockey W. Smith to score another double of the week and enhance his talents as jockey which according to most amongst the racing public is not upto the mark. My rest of the speed ratings for the day are as follows:
