Selections for 19th July, 2008 - Bangalore Races

Hi Folks,

Tomsk trained by Arjun Mangalorkar is in great form, having already notched up a hat-trick of wins is maintianing rousing form, should score in the Nawab M. Arshad Ali Khan Memorial Cup (1,400m) a race for horses rated 80 and above, which features Saturday's races the main event of the races to be held here on Saturday (July 19). Tomsk is in great nick and is expected to maintain his winning ways. Although the field is competitive Tomsk has to be at his the best to win. It has the best burst required in the final 200m. Last time carrying back breaking weight covered acres of ground in the last 200m to win impressively. Lycia Falcon should trouble the favourite a great deal. It is rated highly amongst the three horses but still has not lived upto the expected ratings given to it i.e. it is the only horse to have raced in Class II. It has still not warmed up to trouble the former hence I consider TOMSK as days best propostion. Cotswold Arms who is running in the 2000 metres S M Ramakrishna Rao Memorial Trophy, has a good chance of pulling it off, against Arturo and Angelique in the supporting event of the day. My rest of the selections are as follows:

Race No. 1 : One 2) Gris Rapide 3) Spicy Star

One led till 400 2nd till 200 and ultimately finished a tame 3rd.Should take a lot of beating over this shorter trip and less experienced field. In fact as an odds on favourite one should resist it from eating.

Race No. 2 : Chimerique 2) Raptor Force 3) Affirmed Crown

Chimerique last time when it raced in Mumbai took charge and was shaping like a winner where she went down on the post. Prior to that it came like a bomb from way behind and placed 2nd to Pocket Rocket. Well on track it is beating Diego Rivera on 12/7 with same jockey in saddle by 5 lengths with plenty in hand. Only factor which goes against this horse is a run after long time. Else it would have hacked the field fair and square. Not only the above track work but was seen finishing level with Cotswold Arms. Looking at all these factors I still feel it should prevail and score an easy victory at lucrative odds. To be safe also cover it in place. Raptor Force was seen finishing ahead of Affirmed Crown in a mock race. Hence Affirmed Crown has to improve a lot inorder to put it across the above horses.

Race No. 3 : Clouseau 2) Fire Of Joy 3) Lady Banks

Well its Tea-Break time. Simply refrain yourself from betting in this open class wherein anyone can win. Still Clouseau after being gelded when it ran for the first time, has been sharpened up well by giving some forward runs in listless distances. Hence has a chance each way.

Race No. 4 : Cotswold Arms 2) Angelique 3)Arturo

Folks Cotswold Arms was given a good mock race wherein it finished just a length away to Alekona which won a cup last week. Now seldom good trainers try out a horse immediately after a good track work. It is prepared with some good cup in view later on. That is the case here. Forget the last run of Cotswold Arms. It should enable P. Shroff to end the season in Bangalore with a good double with Chimerique. Both Angelique and Arturo seem to me tired horses which are raced in any distance. Hence avoid them and take a nice chance for a double each way on tote.

Race No. 5 : TOMSK 2) Lycia Falcon 3) Safar

In racing terminology play a horse till it is defeated in a race. Have seen many animals winning from Class V and have raced in Class I winning continuously. Hence always follow the form rest is explained earlier above.

Race No. 6 : Rebellious 2) Adorabella 3) Zafar

This race has a tricky look about it but Rebellious and Adorabella have the best chance. Still ignore it and watch it on T.V.

Race No. 7 : Voice of India 2) Touch of Magic 3) You Beauty

Again an open race wherein Voice of India who is running over a suitable trip, can make amends. Avoid it and just observe the race for future consideration.

Race No. 8 : Sunnyland 2) Auchinlech 3) Super Sonic

Both Super Sonic and Ballerina Girl are running on promotion. My advice to all eat the JODI. The horse to be considered on past laurels is Sunnyland. Has run some good races last season in the same class hence I fancy strongly an each way bet.

Days Best : TOMSK

Good Double : Chimerque and Cotswold Arms

Kainchi w/pl : One, Chimerque, Cotswold ARms and Tomsk

Good luck to all my fellow members,
Thanking you,

Jimmy

Jimmy , Three Horses came through in the Kainchi .SUNNY Land was also in your tips and you had clearly mentioned that 3 races are avoidable and that makes it

We cannot be winners everyday. It is important that we have a budget and play exactly as per a plan so that even during periods when the "LADY LUCK" deserts us, we still do not end up loosing a lot of money."LADY LUCK" does favour everybody at some point of time and we make returns at that time.
