E-RACING BLOG: PUNE SELECTION (RAVI KHANNA)

The PRA Sprint Stakes the main event in today's card of eight events has a bunch of top class sprinters vying for honours. Narendra Lagad trained Avec Plaisir to be ridden by apprentice Jockey Shammi Khan claiming 5kg allowance is in rousing form as was seen in his last outing wherein it pulverized the opposition for the same distance. Today inspite of carrying heavy penalty for its fluent win last time out, looks the prime contender to win the Sprint Stakes. It prompts me to recommend as best betting proposition for the day.In the supporting event that is The Starfire Boy Trophy, Blue Mountain looks good. My rest of the selections for the day are as follows:


Race No. 1 : Brezhnev 2) Passion In The Park


Aged Brezhnev has an edge over Passion In The Park racing after a gap of 7 months. Brezhnev has travelled the same distance in the past and has also won. Instead of playing the favourite I recommend either eat the favourite or play each way Brezhnev.


Race No. 2 : Exotic Star 2) Eternal Flight


Exotic Str led till 400m and ended reasonable 6th in the race won by Nora. Since rest of the field has poor performers, it should score easily. Eternal Flight can take the advantage of the same and place here.


Race No. 3 : Phatek Philippe 2) Star Adventure 3) Absolut


Phatek Philippe twice an expensive failed favourite has a good chance to emerge from the maiden ranks. In his last outing if not for the saddle slipping backwards would have finished close to Secret Pilgrim. Also at Mumbai in Rno. 323 inspite running green finished an eye cataching 2nd to Morpheus. I would suggest give one more chance to Phatek Philippe as Star Adventure has yet to travel mile.


Race No. 4 : Zuetina 2) Alexa 3) Genghis Khan


An avoidable race as most of the runers barring Zuetina have no recent form.


Race No. 5 : Blue Mountain 2) Barbara 3) Calypso Dancer


Again an open race wherein Blue Mountain has a slight edge over others as it has travelled the present distance and come 2nd to Solve Regina. Note Barbara for place bet as it was seen finishing on 2nd in the mock race won by Wafadar.


Race No. 6 : AVEC PLAISIR 2) Englehart 3) Carindhu

As explained above the four year old daughter of Tirol with apprentice jockey astride comes out best in my speed rating and inspite of penalty will be able to score. Main threats will be Englehart and Cairndhu.

Race No. 7 : Desert Dust 2) Ruby Rocket 3) World War Three

Again an open race wherein winner finding is difficult. Still it should emerge from the trio mentioned.

Race No. 8 : Thundering Tan 2) Liberty Speaks 3) Expensive Affair

Thunder Tan was fighting 2nd always in the race won by Spart. According to me it is way ahead in speed. Still Liberty Speaks and Expensive may try to run close.
