Selections for 24thAugust, 2008 - Pune Races

Hi Folks,

Gobelin trained by Imtiaz Sait and to be ridden by Samuel Fargeat appears to have an edge over the other runners in the fray for the prestigious APE Truk Eve Champion Trophy, the feature event of the races to be held here on Sunday (Aug. 24). Nanjing I believe can beat the favorite Czar Alexander in The Highland Rule Trophy the supporting event for the day. My rest of the selections for the day are as follows:

Race No. 1 : Hi Dolly 2) Blue Jay 3) Secret Glory

Hi Dolly is running the right distance and remember on a good day Don Surti always exhibits his skills. Blue Jay was seen covering acres of ground after being slowly away to finish third behind Vantage earlier and can improve on that run. Secret Glory has the best credentials has no reason to lose, but the presence of G. Oza in the saddle is beweldering. Hence one should eat the favourite and take chance in vew of poor jockeyship on Secret Glory.

Race No. 2 : Nanjing 2) Czar Alexander

Nanjing in its last outing was last till bend, made good progress towards home stretch and just when it started to accelerate further, was jostled badly by Shy Boy at 200mts. Today with a positive switch of jockey, has a good chance to prevail over Czar Alexander as he is not the same horse which had shown substantial promise last year. Also Czar Alexander with the same jockey lost a certain race as the horse needs strong handling.

Race No. 3 : Star Of The Season 2) Elusive Trust 3) Star Crusader

In RNo.32 Star Of The Season was always seen moving better of the field. With stronger jockey switch, Satr Of The Season, should win in a close finish from Elusive Trust and Star Crusader.

Race No. 4 : Gobelin 2) Yana 3) AquiloGobelin somehow relishes Pune course. In its last outing at Mumbai though slowly away was seen finishing on with good burst of speed and finish 4th thereafter. Also classwise it comes better. Yana accordingly to me is still a class below. If it wins well in future all the graded races will be at its disposal. Aquilo though was seen moving in great fashion, is past his prime days. In fact Nitrous will run better.

Race No. 5 : War Of Attrition 2) Raghuvansh 3) IkariaAn avoidable race wherein in all likelyhood jodi might disappear. Many contenders are there. Hence leave it or eat the jodi.

Race Np. 6 : Star Always 2) Schnell 3) The RisingOn form Star Always is clear as H.J. Antia seldom tries at Pune. Still keep away from this race in order to avoid burning fingers.

Race No. 7 : Cyclades 2) Palme Dor 3) Global Spirt

Cyclades is a banker for the day. Having had benefit of a good run should easily score as it is way ahead of the rest in speed as well as handicap rating.

Days Best : CYCLADES

Good Double : Star of the Season and Cyclades

Good luck to all

Thanking you,

Jimmy

We cannot be winners everyday. It is important that we have a budget and play exactly as per a plan so that even during periods when the "LADY LUCK" deserts us, we still do not end up loosing a lot of money."LADY LUCK" does favour everybody at some point of time and we make returns at that time.

Mathematics by itself does not work whenever human involvement is there.

An analysis is also made on the possibilities whch exist for the Owner,Jockey & Trainer and a reasonable surmise is made.
