Selections for 31st August, 2008

Hi Folks,

Bee Quick holds the edge over his nine rivals in The Goel Ganga Developments Million the feature event for the today’s races wherein display of speed potential of 3 year olds in western India will be tested. Bee Quick is tracking excellently of the lot and is placed officially higher on handicap rating hence should be able to take care of others wherein some prominent youngsters of which Highland Bounty and Artistical look capable of stretching Bee Quick in the race. I will not be surprised if she bags it in a close tussle with Highland Bounty. My rest of the selections for the day are as follows:

Race No. 1 : Black Warrior 2) Classic Spirit 3) Te Quiero

Black Warrior looks better placed than both Classic Spirit and Te Quiero. Still an avoidable race from betting angle.

Race No. 2 : Rubaiyat 2) Yowza 3) Liverpool

Another avoidable race however if Rubaiyat can produce her track form of Mock Race run on 23rd inst. wherein she beat Lord Kala easily, she will win from Yowza another filly tracking well. Liverpool has disappointed often in the past and unless his problems are sorted out just leave it.

Race No. 3 : Queens Court 2) Premier Queen 3) Arabian Speed

Premier Queen no doubt has been knocking at the doors of success for quite long but can it beat Queens Court today. Well on one to one basis we take Rno.139 at Mumbai wherein both have raced alongside. Queens Court at that time was conceding 4kgs to Premier Queen, which was seen leading the field till 400 and weekened thereafter. Queens Court in customary running fashion was 6th till 800 and improved 3rd till 400 and finished ahead of Premier Queen by 2.5ls. Today at level weight and in spite of Premier Queen showing vast improvement I feel will not be able to turn the tables on Queens Court. Hence one should eat Premier Queen else play Queen Court each way.

Race No. 4 : Luck Factor 2) Sparta 3) Golden Spurs

In all probability chances of jodi vanishing are bright here. Very open race wherein many horses have equal chance on past performances. Here I recommend Luck Factor a rank outsider. In the same group of 4yr olds, Luck Factor was always higher in scales and was on weight reducing mission at Mamba. I am sure if ridden judiciously class will tell in the end. Hence play each way bet and must include in the carry forward super jackpot pool.

Race No. 5: Ricardo 2) Es Seder 3) Apathies

Ricardo had a lung-opener when ending good 2nd to Highland Bounty earlier this season and can win if he improves on that performance. Es Seder and Apathies should figure in the finish. Since Ricardo is running amongst some unknown quality of horses here, should annex The Pennywise Trophy easily. Last time was seen finishing on from 6th at 800 and finished good 2nd.

Race No. 6 : Bee Quick 2) Highland Bounty 3) Artistical

Very tricky race wherein Bee Quick has the best credentials. Remember once it was fancied opposite Kiara at Mumbai and lost the race as it was slowly into the strides. Has improved a lot as evidenced in the morning trials. It should be a closely fought race between Highland Bounty and Artistical. Bee Quick has better credentials on handicap rating but will be made to sweat by both Highland Bounty and Artistical who are also speedy customers.

Race No. 7 : Spirituall 2) Arkhos 3) Ming

Again an open race and though Spirituall was outclassed by Our Excellencee can make amends for that failure today. Arkhos and Ming should run him close.

Race No. 8 : Heifitz 2) Kiss Away 3) Raquel

Avoidable race wherein most of the runners are closely matched on speed radar. In reality Raquel comes way ahead on speed rating and has beaten Yana comprehensively at Mumbai. Hence play a token place bet.

Race No. 9 : EQUALITY 2) Blue Mountain 3) Indian Summer

Just watch the ring as Equality owner N.D.Talati is famous for heavy bets in the past. Last time it was seen finishing on from the last position with a non- jobber astride. Today with positive switch of jockey and extra 200m to travel according to me is the day’s best proposition.

Day’s Best : EQUALITY

Good Double: Bee Quick and Equality

Kainchi w/pl : Queens Court, Bee Quick and Equality

Good luck to all

Thanking you,

Jimmy

We cannot be winners everyday. It is important that we have a budget and play exactly as per a plan so that even during periods when the "LADY LUCK" deserts us, we still do not end up loosing a lot of money."LADY LUCK" does favour everybody at some point of time and we make returns at that time.
