Autonomy should annex the S.A.Poonawalla Million in great style, as he is way ahead of others in speed rating as well as official handicap rating. Even though Autonomy makes his first appearance this season it is well sharpened up with this event in view. The Jockey, trainer and the owner combination should be in the limelight for the day. Pampered Princess is the Bomb of the day in The Mysore Race Club Trophy the supporting event for the races to be held today. Ignore her last run wherein she finished a close 9th. With a positive switch of jockey she is any day a better class animal. In view of bumper carry forward for various pools it would be wise to apply caution and think before placing your heavy bets individually /pools as generally on such occasions upsets take place. My other selections for the rest of the day are as follows:
Race No. 1: Latest News 2) Bu Attifel 3) Fiery Future
Both Latest News and Bu Attifel have raced together in Rno.109 wherein with the same jockey i.e. Samuel astride Bu Attifel just managed to secure 2nd place near the post over 1200mts. with 7kgs difference in weight. Today with 200mts less to cover and with an additional 7kgs weight advantage enjoyed by the aged Latest News, will be very difficult for Bu Attifel to put it across. Hence one should take a chance by eating the odds on favorite.
Race No. 2: Silent Presence 2) Flashing Flame 3) Kingdom of Love
Silent Presence has the benefit of last two easy runs this season and looks in a position to strike in this mediocre company wherein most of the horses except Flashing Flame seem to be out of form. Last time Silent Presence finished a close 8th i.e. total 7ls from the ultimate winner and was not stretched at all. On both the occasions the trainer has tested the burst of the horse from behind with today’s distance in view. Flashing Flame has reached its peak. On promotion and penalty will be difficult to prevail over others. Still can manage to place and will definitely fight for minor crumbs with Kingdom of Love.
Race No. 3: Oyster Princess 2) Secret Pilgrim 3) Raghuvansh
Oyster Princess is well placed here. Last time out covered good ground to finish close 5th in the same class. Today with a negligible penalty should be able to prevail over in form Secret Pilgrim that won comfortably over the same trip in the lower class. Today Secret Pilgrim is not only promoted but has incurred penalty. Hence fourth win in a row in this present class looks very difficult to achieve. Raghuvansh will run a good race as last time out it stumbled badly at the start whereby it was shaken up a bit and that made the difference in the ultimate result. One can still eat the Jodi of Secret Pilgrim and Raghuvansh.
Race No. 4: Cyclades 2) Monopoly 3) Festive Light
On paper according to most of my fellow tipsters Monopoly looks outstanding and certainty for the day. But before laying heavy bet on it at cramped odds just recollect this being the first leg of super jackpot pool having a carried forward amount, chances for an upset are very bright. Also Cylades has done nothing wrong. It has improved tremendously. If apprentice Zervan manages to take a long lead before the home stretch I assure you it will not be caught by Monopoly. As on the basis of last run Cylades enjoys a 25 points difference over Monopoly in speed rating. Well a big gap and also slight weight advantage. Hope I am proved wrong in the interest of other punters when the ultimate result is declared. Festive Light having run in the same class and same trip should place here and can also add spice to the finish.
Race No. 5: Mysterious Heights 2) Snow Blind 3) Rohans Glory
A tricky race wherein both Mysterious Heights and Snow Blind are evenly matched. Betting trend at the time of actual race will decide the winner. Still Mysterious Heights having led till 200mts then lost on post to Artistic Liaison has a better chance to score since it will travel shorter course. Also with last 200mts speed in its favor should be able to hold others at bay. Still one should include Mysterious Heights, Aegina, Rohans Glory and Snow Blind in the respective pools as again this being the first leg of carried forward jackpot pool upset chances are very bright.
Race No. 6: AUTONOMY 2) Flaming Ace 3) Juventus
Autonomy has been sharpened up with this race in view and should prevail over others as it is head and shoulders above in speed as well as official handicap rating. Just observe the mock race on 28th August 2008. Autonomy won the mock race in smart timing and was seen moving just like a well-oiled textile machine. Believe me it was in pink of condition. Later on it was not stretched but just given easy gallops with other horses. Now placed on 70 points by the official handicapper i.e. six points more than Juventus. Juventus no doubt won in a canter but today has to carry additional weight, which will definitely affect its performance. In fact Flaming Ace has been blazing the track and just watch the run today. Lastly I would not hesitate to nominate Autonomy as the best proposition for the day looking at the vast gap it enjoys over others and can be treated as a banker for the respective pools. Pretty Commission will definitely fight for minor placing. Only major factor, which might go against Autonomy, is that in most of Race No6 run all over, seldom does No.1 win.
Race No. 7: Pampered Princess 2) Red Indian 3) Oyster Pearl
An avoidable race from betting angle. Pampered Princess can be played each way as she has finished a close 9th after leading till the distance and faded out in Lago Medio’s race over the same trip in the terms race. With a positive switch of jockey one can definitely take a small chance each way if in loss in the earlier part of the day. Many contenders come into the fray and in order to avoid disappointment one should include the field for the respective pools.
Race No. 8: Vijay Bhava 2) Centreofattention 3) Liverpool
Vijay Bhava has not been tried honestly. Covered good ground to finish good 4th to Golden Spurs over the same trip. Centreofattention failed to quicken when she finished game 2nd to Il Divo. Has improved a lot and should give a fight to Vijay Bhava. My recommendation would be to eat the jodi of Veera Wang and Centreofattention, as this is the leg where generally upsets take place in respective pools.
Race No. 9: Secret Talk 2) Mr. Greedy 3) Blade Runner
Again an avoidable race from betting angle one. This race promises to be a close affair with no particular runner towering over the rest, hence leave it.
