The three year old bay gelding Fantastic Quest who hails from trainer S. Ganapathy's yard in in pink of condition and appeals most in the Madras Race Club Trophy (1,600m), the main event of the races to be held today. He should be hard to down as in the speed rating it is way ahead of the rest.The Kanteerava Cup the supporting event for the day has an open look. Three year olds Own Voice, Succeeding Star, Undue and Artistos no doubt are good youngsters but are running for the first time in this class. Hence the experienced lot may give a tough account and of the experienced lot AFEA looks the best. In all his previous runs it has come from way back the field over a shorter course. Today with extra 200mts. it should trouble the best here. Hence a very candidate for place. Amongst the three year olds Undue looks the best. When first rated in Race No.98 was given a rating of 57 compared to any other three year olds when first rated. It was considered 7 points clear of Own Voice i.e. 3.5kgs. Aristos no doubt won undisturbed last time out looks difficult here with double class promotion and if it manages to win, take it from me a frontline contender for future classics. Hence watch the run today. So after putting all the pros and cons Undue towers over all in speed rating and has a good each eay chance. Lastly would like to comment on The Trombay Plate contestants and in particular about Senna. Senna ran RNo.92 with a speed rating of 587 and subsequently ran RNo.146 with a speed rating of 559. Well the factors against the drop of speed rating were due to tremendous increase in weight and inspite of shorter distance was unable to capitalize on it. Today again drop in weights and travelling the same course should not find it hard to score here. My rest of the speed ratings for the day are as follows:
