The Akkasaheb Maharaj Trophy - An Open Race

Hi Folks,

To me The Akkasaheb Maharaj Trophy looks an open race wherein at least four contenders come very closely on speed rating whereby indicating it could be anybody's race in the end. Red Romeo no doubt won by running away from the field in RNo.7 whereby beating Pepe Junior and Portrush by aleast 6ls. But important factor to be noted is that Red Romeo was in receipt of 5.5kgs from his rivals last time and being a facile winner has been penalised for the same. To-day for a change it will be conceeding 7 to 9 kgs of weights to the same horses it beat last time hence the task looks really difficult whereby one can take a chance on eating the market fancy Red Romeo in small quantity. If it manages to win well and good but I for one would either eat the favourite else leave the race from betting angle. In The DR. S.R.Captain Trophy Cameo a winner of last outing, retains form and should not find any difficutly to score an encore at lucrative odds by lifting this trophy from Feet Of Flames the nearest danger. In the Dr. P.K. Sardeshmukh Maharaj Trophy I strongly fancy El Bunduq. In fact El Bunduq has beaten Wild Torronaado comfortably in Mumbai when they last met in RNo.130 and Princess Ruby has also beaten Wild Torronaado in RNo.106 in the same class, hence for Wild Torronaado to fulfill the favouritism will be difficult considering both El Bunduq and Princess Ruby having beaten him in Mumbai. My remaining speed ratings for the events of the day are as follows:

Danger could come from Johny Bravo who ran 3rd just 3 1/4 lengths behind Last Nights Sonnet - Magan Jodha's horses are running into form too.

Duke of Windsor and Force of Law are reasonable betting propositions.

We cannot be winners everyday. It is important that we have a budget and play exactly as per a plan so that even during periods when the "LADY LUCK" deserts us, we still do not end up loosing a lot of money."LADY LUCK" does favour everybody at some point of time and we make returns at that time.
