CIELO REY for The Ashoka Chakra Cup

Well prepared Cielo Ray is expected to annex The Ashoka Chakra Cup to be run over a distance of 1400mts the main event of the races to be held here on Friday. Cielo Rey had made big impression by winning his first start in an impressive manner. Due to costly failures as on money favorite during the Bangalore Summer Season it was decided by the trainer to give a break from racing which has helped the gelding to regain zest for racing as evidenced in the recent mock race wherein though Glitterato won that mock race, Cielo Rey was not extended since it was appearing after a long lay-off and jockey C.D.Hayes was very positive about the performance of the gelding. Cielo Rey though running after almost six months gap was seen striding freely on that day and looked in pink of condition after this exercise. To-day running after a long lay-off, the opposition it faces is very mediocre . Remember Cielo Rey in official rating was placed at 62points i.e. much higher than both Rugged Beauty and Glitterato when they were first given handicapping points. A straight difference of 5kgs over the rest which can be the turning point in assessing the winner for this cup. In the Saptharishi Cup Div.II, I once again would give chance to Hill Of Grace over the rest. This horse is hoodwinking the racing patrons since long and time has come to deliver the goods to-day and in the same Cup Div.I, I strongly fancy Affirmed Crown as it was unintended 4th last time.
