Saturday Races

These are my views for the day ;


First race :


VB event meant for some of the Horses which have been systematically reduced to Junk.Many of them were not being tried when the chance was there and with no current form whatsoever picking the Horses which can WIN seems difficult.

Suffice to state that LIVE IT UP , ACTION HERO , GAMPU and SILVER CREST CANNOT WIN.

Betting can be considered amongst the rest 4 runners based on the ODDS.



Second Race :

Though a class IV race in reality it is another VB race but with the Best JOCKEYS in the country doing duty .

The Ones with NO CHANCES WHATSOEVER ARE : Bakersfield , Sensational Bay , Starry View , Nice Guy , Platinum Dreams and Desire to Dazzle.

So we are left with , Miss Honey Dew , Cindy Girl , Couelle and Lucky look.



Third Race :

The race is restricted to Star Presentation , Scimitar and Jersey Power.If one of these falter then South Paradise can come into contention as it has had the benifit of a race run.

Star Presentation is a NON WINNER but with a lot of potential.Can WIN.

Scimitar has been a big let down after the impressive runs in Hyderabad.At this handicap may find it difficult.

Jersey Power has been very consistent throughout Winter and may be short of class but seems a place certainity on handicap.



Fourth Race :

Fleeting Arrow has tasted success in Winter and has also done well in Mumbai.Has the class to Win authoritatively in spite of conceding weight to Archipenko.Tracking extremely well .However entrusted to APPU whose riding prowess is suspect.I would avoid a bet.

Archipenko : 2 nd choice but again not sure of the odds at race time.The most unstable rider on Indian Turf C.Alford would be riding this horse for the First time.Nothing spectacular on the pedigree or track.But as most runners in this race are entrusted to some mediocre Jockeys or not in good form can scrape through.

Lava : The only Horse with a genuine chance to upset.

Western Command : has had a miserable Winter season losing as Favorite.With Smith doing the honors , difficult for PLACE also.



Fifth Race :

Class One race with 6 runners in the field of which 3, Badge of Gold , Jersey Pride and Arturo can be ruled out.

Dancing Highness and Stylish bay can be considered based on ODDS.



Sixth race :

Integer , Mighty Heart , Black Splendour and Master Strategist are the 4 HORSES which can PLACE here as the rest are here for an airing.

Master Strategist can be considered for a place bet as WINNER picking amongst the 4 runners seems difficult.



Last race :

Pleasuring : Should shed its maiden status.

Down Town : may place .

Another Destiny : Place certainity.

Hall Mark : If Jockey Harish passes the breath Analyser test , may be a good each way bet.


All said and done it is a poor race card where most horses would be contend being participants rather than having a Go at the Winners Enclosure.
