Hi Folks,

Well highly competitive fields today with all Trophy races both Pesi Shroff and Narendra Lagad dominating the day's proceedings. Its a credit that inspite of best fillies participating in the guineas, odds on champion filly opened 25/100. It speaks highly of the reputation it holds after being unbeaten in her career. Barring untoward incident I do not forsee her defeat. Still in racing anything can happen. In her last run Set Alight was kept handy till 600 then took charge and won with plenty in hand. According to me Set Alight presently enjoys 5kg advantage in scale over Icebreaker and 4.5kgs over Originality. Icebreaker is no mean horse. It comes to Western India with smashing wins in Oaks as well in Bangalore Derby. In speed ratings it is not much of a difference with Icebreaker showing signs of improvement after each run. Originality should place ahead of Attractress. In Tirol Million I strongly fancy Forest Flair. Last time out was 2nd till 600 and gained momentum after 400mts to win very smoothly, in comparisson Versaki gained victory after fighting every inch bravely till victory. Inspite of good morning trials I feel Forest Flair is much better. In The Bjets Maharaja Jiwajirao Scindia Trophy (Grade III) Diego Rivera should sail away easily as most of the runners have been beaten in RNo. 43 except for stablemate Cotswold Arms. Only Pesi shroff runner which I doubt her winning chances is Kiara. Though tracking exceedingly well, still one major factor which may go against her is that it is racing after September which is too big a gap. My rest of the ratings for the day are as follows:

CLASSERVILLE for The Karnataka Racehorse Owners' Association Tropy

Hi Folks,

Classerville made good impression whilst winning his maiden start showing tremendous acceleration in the final stages of the race and though it won narrowly for which has incurred the penalty, it has improved further on that run and should win this trophy. Main danger will be Vivacity which has good advantage of a mock race and has been sharpened further. Disadvantage being running after nearly 3 months which in racing is considered a big gap. Nevertheless Classerville is in fine nick and it appears to me that inspite of having to concede all round weight should be able to hold rest at bay. In The Vijaynagar Trophy it is a close fight between Sunny Colours and Win Pretty Baby. My rest of the ratings for the day are as follows:

NITROUS should annexe The Rajpipla Trophy

Hi Folks,

Nitrous trained by D. Todywalla should lift The Rajpipla Trophy a handicap for horses rated 80 and above (Class I) quite easily. Nitrous is well prepared for this trophy race. In fact with an eye on Stayers Cup to be run during the Invitation Week in March, Nitrous will be closely watched both for speed and stamina when she takes on Secret Pilgrm and Tigresse Noire both of same age group in The Rajpipla Trophy the feature event for the day. Secret Pilgrim ran 3rd to Ikaria over the same trip and though looks vastly imporved in the latest trials, still according to me will be no match to Nitrous inspite of getting advantage in weights as Nitrous inspite of conceeding 11.5kgs is till further superior in weights by at least 5kgs. Rest is racing when suddenly all our favourable factors get reversed. The N.M.Irani Trophy looks to me as an open race wherein any one can win. In The Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy (VIBart Trophy for maiden Indian Horses 3 years old only to be run over a distance of 1000mts. I fancy Desdemona over Carmen which ran poorly last time out. La Lapitus who is in great heart as evidenced by his track movements, should annexe the Delhi Race Club Trophy (2,000m), the main event of the races to be held here on Monday. It failed to register the coveted hat-trick last time when it finished 4th, is well placed on weights and should romph home easily. Blast In Class which as given a run yesterday, Gentlemans Deal and Bold Blast should fight for the minor placings. In The App Jockey A. Pramod Goud Memorial Cup Div. I to be run over a distance of 1600mts., I strongly recommend Cabochon and in Div.II., I recommend Zorbonaut which is not tried honestly till now and to-day will run a good race for the money. In the Prince Khartoum Plate Sparks appeals the most and should score from Zycon. My remaining speed ratings for the day are as follows:

Hi Folks,

Oasis Star narrow loss in Pune to Rejuvenite is to be ignored and recent track work is the evidence of her fitness and speed. She is head and shoulders above the rest that will run in the Arjav Diamond Salver and is most likely to win the race with something in hand with an eye towards the Invitational week for the Sprinters as well as Super Mile events to be held later in the next month at Bangalore. Cotswold Arms is any day better than Running Bull who lacks consistancy.
In the other supporting events for the day which comprises of cup/trphy races in The Blue Star Diamonds Trophy, a thrilling finish is on the card with three speedy customers trying to match each other in speed. Bee Quick though running for the first time, is better on the scales and speed. Both Bee Quick and Monopoly have met each other but on account of present good track work, Bee Quick holds an edge over Monoply in relation to the last time but very little separates the two. Bee Quick is very speedy like Monopoly but has to match strides not only with Monopoly but also third sprinter Star Adventure which won last time quite easily. The last 200mts will give the real account of speed and the horse which has substantial lead should prevail. My remaining speed ratings for the day are as follows:

Coral Gables on level terms in that race no doubt finished ahead of Champforever but on that occasion Champforever was ridden injudiciously. Unbeaten CAPTIVATING fancied for The Governor's Trophy

Hi Folks,

Unbeaten Captivating is in good form and should complete a hat-trick in the Governor’s Trophy (1,600m), the chief event of the races to be held here to-day. Captivating is reported to be working well and raring to go and though it won last time defeating Red Renegade just by 1.25ls, point to be noted is it won with something in reserve and if brought from behind I am sure the ultimate verdict will be much more. Captivating is penalised three kgs for her two fluent gained victories but according to me she is much superior to Red Renegade classwise as the later has just a benefit of an impressive run in his only career start earlier in the season, and has obviously benefited from that experience. In The Infants Plate Div. I, Star Assembly on account of good track work holds an edge over others viz. Virtuoso and Portobello. Chintz is running on debut and also morning track work seems to be average. In The S.Rangarajan Memorial Trophy a handicap for Indian horses rated 80 and above (Class I) I strongly fancy Mercurial who seems to be getting back to past form. Both Queen Rania and Mercurial have raced together in R.No.111 wherein though Queen Rania won impressively start to finish, Mercurial was seen finishing on impresively and to-day Mercurial is in receipt of 3.5kgs from Queen Rania after taking into account last run weight difference. I am confident if kept up to the pace Mercurial should score here and hence I strongly recommend an each way bet. My remaining speed ratings for the day are as follows:

ARTS traind by C.D.Katrak and to be ridden by D.Allan is in pink of condition as evidenced by his morning track trials, should score in The Governor's Cup to be run over a distance of 1200mts. for maiden Indian Horses 3years old only. In fact according to me it should canter even though available at cramped odds. In the Shantidas Askuran Trophy Div.II, Spica on her last run has got good opportunity to score at lucrative odds. Even though the odds are rising since night I strongly fancy her chances in view of having an advantage of a run with excellent speed rating. In the M.H.Ahmedbhoy Trophy since Peninsula is not the same horse which we all had seen her run during last year oaks, I feel Congrats should score on first outing.
