Hi Folks,

Imtiaz Sait trained Nora to be ridden by Champion upcoming jockey Imran Chisty looks all set to win The Oxford Properties R.W.I.T.C. Ltd. Gold Cup (Grade II). Last Mumbai season in R.No.161 finished in Oaks 2nd behind Riyasat wherein at level weights it beat Phenomenale hollow out of sight. To-day when Nora is in receipt of 8.5kgs I do not see any chances of Phenomenale turning into victorious.Still its racing after all wherein anything is possible. Also note Nora has run good races this season with better class of youngsters wherein chances were dim. To-day on the last day I strongly fancy it and would not hesitate it to be my day's bet for to-day's proceedings at Pune. Running Bull on account of excellent run last outing can be joker in the pack here. My remaining speed ratings for the day are as follows:

Shroff and to be ridden by Suraj Narredu though running after placing 3rd to Aboline in The Kingfisher Derby Bangalore over 2000mts. in her last run i.e. in the month of July, is in pink of condition as evidenced by her movements in the morning trials, had an impressive mock race behind the wonder filly Set Alight, should annex this trophy with ease being the highlights of the races to be held here on Friday. In the supporting event for the day i.e. The Coolmore Stud Crystal Trophy looks quite an open race wherein many contestants come into the reckoning, still Our Fortune on the basis of good speed rating has a faint chance to score. Nevertheless one should just watch the race rather than play it. Jockey Imran Chisty should be in the limelight and should strengthen his championship tally over Y.S. Srinath. MESSALINA for The Poonawalla Mysore Derby 2009(Grade I)

Hi Folks,

Firstly let me wish you all a very Happy Deepawali and Happy New Year and may the festival of lights light up your life with good winners for the coming year.

Now for the concluding day of racing at Mysore in The Poonawala Mysore Derby 2009(Grade I), S.Padmanabhan trained Messalina though lacks in experience and sparingly raced in her career, looks too good to lift the derby being the stellar event of the Season scheduled to-day at Mysore. Messalina won the Hyderabad Fillies Trial effortlessly by pulverizing the opposition and showed tremendous turn of foot. Believe me this horse was first targeted for Hyderabad Derby as per my talks with one of the leading breeder and co-owner at Pune in early October failing which Pune was next in schedule but due to some reasons targeted here. Messalina will no doubt face stiff competition from Sprint Star the main danger here who won the Colts Trial at Mysore coming from back and produced an electrifying run sweeping past Mystic Quest and Classerville whereby exhibiting his abilities to stay. All said and done, Messalina should prevail in the end and I would strongly recommend one and all to play an each way good bet. In the supporting event for the day i.e. The Daissy Appo Cup is a straight fight between father and son trained Ohyesa and Youre So Beautiful. Neil Darashah trained Youre So Beautiful is in tremendous condition but lacks experience and class and Ohyesa on account of good speed rating and being way ahead in handicap rating of the rest, would strongly fancy his chances and in fact would not hesitate to select as the day's best betting proposition unless the father allows the son to win the event on a big day to get well acquainted with the racing patrons. CLASSERVILLE for The Nanoli Stud Pune Derby (Grade I)

Hi Folks,

Classerville the south challneger trained by S. Padmanabhan and to be ridden by W. Smith gets my vote to win the Pune Derby 2009 the plum event of the season and major attraction of the races to be held here on Sunday. Both Classrville and Versaki have raced together and the later has beaten the former in Mumbai Season inspite of which I fancy the chances of Classerville because the horse runs the best on shorter homestretch and possessing good initial speed if it is brought from behind till the Club House, well it can upset and spoil the career graph of Versaki who has been unbeaten so far and also maintains good form. In fact Versaki has not appealed to me as far as speed rating is concerned. Last time though Versaki recorded brilliant victory in Pune this season the fact to be noted is the speed was too much low of a Champion colt. No doubt it towers over all in handicap rating being superior by at least 8kgs. but speed wise it is compensated by others. Hence Classerville on account of excellent speed rating should prevail in the end. Rest of the card looks favorite horses prevailing except a hiccup here and there i.e. Il Divo on account of good handicap chance and last run being too good to miss can with a faint hope prevail over Oasis Star who in fact is in great heart and I am sure it would be foolhardy to look beyond this Champion filly to claim the Noshir & Dolly Dhunjibhoy Sprint Million being a grand rehearsal for the Sprinters Cup a fortnight away. Well to cut it short my remaining speed ratings for the action pack day is as follows:

Wonder Smile trained by R.Foley and to be ridden by B.Prakash a fluent winner of a class I race run over 1800m should make a successful encore in The Governor's Gold Cup the highlight of the races to be held to-day. The opposition here is very mediocre and most of them are rated much lower in handicap ratings. Henry's Secret winner of three consecutive races is a brilliant horse which has been showing constant improvement after each run and in spite of no track work still shapes as a strong contender to upset the favorite here. In the supporting event for the day i.e. The Smt. Maliniraje Prasad Memorial Gold Trophy EDMONDO looks a cinch bet for the day. In his last outing it was seen leading till the last 200m in field of 11 runners for a race run over 1400m wherein it clocked 1.10.10 which is too good. Only other horse which may come somewhere nearer is On A Roll which also was seen recording a time of 1.11.8 for the first 1200m in the last outing. Now to beat these two fast horses we require someone who can come with a flourishing run from outside and here I would nominate Spiritofexcellence as a live danger. ATLANTUS for The Udhagamandalam Cup

Hi Folks,

Well prepared Atlantus trained by Sharat Kumar and to be ridden by Jockey S.John is in rousing form having clocked a smart timing in his last outing which rest of the participants are no where near it,is expected to score in the Udhagamandalam Cup the main event of the races to be held here on Thursday. In fact four horses come into contention but where timing is concerned, Atlantus stands tall amongst the rest. Undue though comes somewhat near has never performed in the past in the present class and Forever Mark no doubt won impressively last time out but does not appeal as far as speed rating is concerned. Hence only other horse which can give a good fight and possibly pip the bandaged Atlantus on the post is last outing failed favorite Hill Of Grace.
