Unbeaten Versakiis considered the best miler in the land today in his age group. He has beaten both Cabriolet and Jacqueline before. He is in pink of condition as per reliable reports from close quarters and going by his morning trials,is literally rearing to go. No doubt he has not had any prep run so to say and that could prove to be the only stoppage barrier in his continuing the unbeaten record. But Cooji Katrak being a shrewd trainer must be knowing his ward well. He has judged his ward by giving a mock race wherein it was very impressive. Cabriolet almost pipped back Versaki in the Nanoli Derby coming from the rear by covering lot of ground, much faster than Versaki. But that was over 2000 meters in the Derby with Pune straight being short. In Mumbai, though the straight is long it might find it a bit too sharp for this distance and he stands a much better chance to catch up Versaki from the rear than the rest of the field. Being a last start record-breaking victory over seven furlongs on tight reins, will no doubt be the turning point along with a benefit of a run. Cabriolet is a live force here. To sum it off I would strongly recommend all to play VERSAKI till it faces its waterloo at the hands of other horses. In the Allah Rakhkha Gold Trophy the supporting event of the day, Moonstar is expected to clinch the honors. Hi,
just wanted to let you know in case you did not that there is actualy another horse called Versaki, but that's not best, this Versaki is in Training in France, he is also a 4 yo, he is also grey and the best bit is that he is also a son of (Verglas) just like your versaki racing in India. i was stunned when i found out.
The French Versaki has run in england, dubai and france.
He was bought as a yearling for 100 000 euros in France, sent to england, he won his first time out in Goodwwod, then raced a group 2 in Royal ascot, following he had a trip to dubai where he ran twice, first time really well finishing 7th in a very good field being a little unlucky runing in thew straight,second time missed the brake loosing any chance.
He now races in France where he seems to have a great potential, he ran monday 22nd for the first time this year facing listed up to group 1 horses in a condition race. he beated a filly taht ran the franch oaks.
He seems to be best as a sprinter.
Let's hope he can carry the name up in France just to honnour the name of your Versaki which seemed to be a real superstar.
